VATICAN - Benedict XVI in Valle d'Aosta for a period of rest

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – Since yesterday, Benedict XVI has been in the region of Valle d'Aosta, in the residence of Les Combes di Introd, where he will remain until Wednesday, July 29, for a time of rest, as he announced at the Angelus on Sunday, July 12 (see Fides 13/7/2009). Benedict XVI returns this year to the residence of Les Comces, which hosted him during the summers of 2005 and 2006, while in 2007 he was in Lorenzago and in 2008, in Bressanone.
On Sunday, July 19, at 12 noon, the Pope will pray the Angelus at Piazza Ruggia in front of the parish church of Sts. Peter and Solutor at Romano Canavese in the diocese of Ivrea. On 26 July he will pray the Angelus in the residence of Les Combes. Following his vacation in Valle d'Aosta, the Pope will move to his summer residence of Castelgandolfo, where he will recite the Angelus on Sundays and Solemnities.
