Granada (Agenzia Fides) – In view of preparations for World Youth Day, which Pope Benedict XVI will preside in Madrid in 2011, the Youth Delegation of the Diocese of Granada has organized a series of encounters for the youth. The first of these will be celebrated on February 7, in the Church of the Incarnation in Motril, as it is the designated jubilee church in the Diocese, for the Year of Saint Paul. This initial encounter, will be followed by others in designated areas.
“Granada will be hosting youth from other countries who will take part in the event with the Holy Father in Spain's capital city,” said Youth Ministry Director for the Diocese of Granada, Fr. Francisco Mingorance.
The registration deadline for participating in the encounter in Motril is January 30. The youth encounter in Motril will begin at 10:30am, with a musical introduction and opening prayer, which will be followed by workshops designed to help the youth discover the charitable dimension of the Church and the commitment this implies. Later, there will be a Mass and lunch. The encounter will conclude with a music concert for youth. (RG) (Agenzia Fides 23/1/2009)
