“The Eucharist source and summit of the Church’s life and mission” on the occasion of the 11th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops
Vatican City (Fides Service) - On the occasion of the 11th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops 11- 23 October, during which Bishops representing the Catholics of the world are reflecting on the topic “The Eucharist source and summit of the Church’s life and mission” Fides prepared a Dossier on the subject. The Dossier has two sections. The first contains a selection of Fides daily news items offering an overall view of how the Year of the Eucharist has been celebrated in the missionary world with liturgies, congresses, and various initiatives. The second section is documentation: excerpts from the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Patristic readings (in Italian only) and modern magisterium on the Eucharist from the Second Vatican Council and recent Popes, Pope Paul VI, John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI.
