AMERICA/CAMEROON - Rector of Saint Josephina Bakhita Interdiocesan Propedeutic Seminary of Ngaoundere appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on May 8, 2009, appointed Fr. Robert Kemna, of the clergy of the Diocese of Garoua, Rector of Saint Josephina Bakhita Interdiocesan Propedeutic Seminary of Ngaoundere (Cameroon).
The new Rector was born in 1958 in Babre (Chad) and was ordained a priest in 1986 in Garoua (Cameroon). After primary school, he attended the the Minor Seminary of Ngaoundere (1972-77), the Seminary of Holy Apostles in Otele (1977-80), the Major Seminary of Nkolbisson (1980-81), the Major Seminary of St. Augustine in Maroua, and the Catholic University of Lille (1981-1986). He then studied human rights at the University of Lyons (1990-93). He earned a degree in Moral Theology and another in Human Rights. He has ministered as follows: Pastor of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Pitoa (1986-87); Pastor of Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Fignole (1988-90); Professor of Moral Theology at Saint Augustine Major Seminary in Maroua (1994-2004); Pastor of the Holy Martyrs of Uganda Parish in Guider (1997-2004).
