Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on 13 January 2011 appointed Fr. Augustinus Marsup, of the Congregation of the Mission (CM) as Rector of the inter-diocesan Seminary "Holy Name of Mary" in Honiara (Solomon Islands).
The new Rector was born in Kediri (Indonesia) on September 10, 1962. He was ordained a priest on 9 September 1993. After serving his parish ministry (in Jakarta) and the position of Rector of the Minor Seminary of St. Vincent in the Diocese of Surabaya (Indonesia), from 2001 to 2006 he was professor of philosophy and director of students at the inter-diocesan Seminary "Holy Name of Mary "in Honiara (Solomon Islands). He then continued his studies in the United States of America (2007-2008) and in Indonesia (2008-2009). In 2009 he returned to the Solomon Islands and carried out his priestly ministry in the Archdiocese of Honiara and professor at the seminary "Holy Name of Mary." (SL) (Agenzia Fides 30/11/2012)
