Luanda (Agenzia Fides)- The Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples Cardinal Ivan Dias will make a pastoral visit to Angola from 11 to 23 July. On 13 July Cardinal Dias will have a meeting in the capital Luanda with missionaries serving in Luanda, Viana and Caxito. On Saturday 14 July, the prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples will travel to the enclave of Cabinda to preside Mass at the Cathedral and visit the Catholic mission at Landana.
On Sunday 15 il Cardinal Dias will go to Uije to preside Mass concelebrated by the Bishops of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Angola and Sao Tomé and also to take part in celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of the creation of the diocese and Bishop Moreira Dos Santos's ordination as Bishop.
When he visits Huambo, on 17 July, Cardinal Dias will have meetings with the Governor, with missionaries and with major seminarians. He will then go to Lubango to preside a Mass for the ten years of the Angolan Institute of Religious Sciences.
On 20 July in Luanda Cardinal Dias will open the Inter-Regional Meeting of Bishops of Southern Africa IMBISA which includes the Catholic bishops of Angola and Sao Tomé, Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland and Zimbabwe.
