ASIA/CHINA - People's University Beijing hosts 1st Forum on 'Religion and Social Assistance' (Charity work) jointly promoted by religious confessions and civil society

Beijing (Agenzia Fides) - “The experience of charity work in Chinese religious communities today; the theoretic study of Religion and Charity Work; the legislative study of religious charity work; religious charity work in the world, are the main themes to be discussed at a Forum on 'Religion and Social Assistance' (Charity work) being held at the People's University Beijing jointly promoted by the local Catholic community, other religious communities and the civil society. Opened yesterday 27 June, for three days the Forum will reflect on the experience of charity work undertaken by the religious community in society and to look towards a future with better and more effective coordination. Representatives and experts of the local Catholic, Protestant, Buddhist and Muslim communities are taking part at the Forum, organised by the 'Faith' Catholic Centre for Cultural Studies and the Faculty of Religion of the People's University Beijing.
