EUROPE/ITALY - ROME CITY COUNCIL HOLDS SPECIAL SESSION TO MARK POPE JOHN PAUL II’s 25 YEARS OF PONTIFICATE

Rome (Fides Service) – On Monday 13 October Rome City Council will hold a special session to mark the 25 years of pontificate of Pope John Paul II. The programme will include an introduction by the City Council president Hon. Giuseppe Mannino; the projection of a video Dona Nobis Pacem which some of the most evocative photos of the Pope’s activity during these 25 years; the reading of part of an address given by Pope John Paul II when he visited the Campidoglio on 15 January 1998; speeches by Cardinal Camillo Ruini, Pope’s vicar for the diocese of Rome and by the president of the national commission for the promotion of Italian culture abroad under secretary Mario Baccini.
