ASIA/INDIA - Meeting to plan National Mission Congress for next year 2008

Bangalore (Fides Service) - The Conference of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India CCBI through its Commission for Proclamation, is planning to bring together regional secretaries of the Commission, diocesan directors of Pontifical Mission Societies and rector majors of national seminaries for a Meeting to organise a National Mission Congress in 2008.
The Meeting for the first stage of planning will be held at the National Biblical Catechetical Centre at Bangalore 8 and 9 March and is expected to bring 150 delegates from all over the country.
Among those present from Rome Secretary General of the Pontifical Mission Society St Peter Apostle, Mgr Jan Dumon who will speak on the relevance of evangelisation in Asia in the third millennium.
Hosting Archbishop Bernard Moras of Bangalore will welcome the participants and preside the opening Eucharistic Celebration on 8 March.
