Panama City (Agenzia Fides) - "Disciples and Missionaries of Jesus Christ builders of the Civilisation of Love Here and Now” is the theme of the 14th Youth Pastoral Meeting organised by the Youth Section of the Council of Latin American Bishops’ Conferences CELAM to be held in Panama City, 4 - 11 February.
The Meeting intends to foster an experience of the living Jesus Christ, to render discipleship more missionary as proposed by Latin America Youth Pastoral plan in order to revitalise the construction of the Civilisation of Love. Specific objectives include: share preparation for CELAM 5; discuss the situation in Latin American and Caribbean countries that of young people in particular in order to identify the importance of Youth pastoral for the construction of the Civilisation of Love; identify the disciple’s attitudes, options and mission in the areas of Youth Pastoral; identify present day challenges and how to face them.
Participants include 5 delegates from the either the National Commission or the Bishops’ Conferences Commission for Youth Pastoral: the Bishop Youth Delegates, the executive secretary, the assessor and the national coordinator, a young man and a young woman. Special envoys will include 5 Youth Pastoral delegates from the United States Uniti; 2 delegates from of Latin American Network of Institutes and Centres at the service of Youth Pastoral; 2 delegates for Afro-American Pastoral and 2 for Indigenous Pastoral.
