AFRICA/COTE D’IVOIRE - International convention of Orionini Brothers: "The unity of the family and fraternal life as guarantee for the announcement of the Kingdom and stimulus for an increase in vocations"

Bonoua (Agenzia Fides) - Today, 18 January, was the closing day of an International convention of Orionini Brothers held at Saint Luigi Orione Centre in Bonoua in Cote d’Ivoire which started on January 12 and brought together over 50 delegates from all over the world to reflect on the theme "The unity of the family and fraternal life as a guarantee for the announcement of the Kingdom and stimulus for new vocations". The delegates came from Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Jordan, Kenya, Italia, Poland, Spain and Togo. "This year - said Rev Enemésio Lazzaris, Vicar general of the Opera Don Orione - we decided to hold our meeting in Cote d’Ivoire, as a sign of our Congregation’s important and commitment for this African country and the whole of Africa also to respond ideally to the appeals made by the Pontiff for peace in this nation ravaged by political and economic instability for so many years".
"The Orionini presence in Africa - Fr Lazzaris said - in these past 20 years has grown, not only with regard to vocations but also in the activity of the Orionini Brothers at the service of the most disadvantaged people.
