AFRICA/ R.D. CONGO - Appointment of rector of Saint Cyprian major inter-diocesan in Kikwit

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples on 20 October 2006, appointed rector of Saint Cyprian major inter-diocesan in Kikwit (R.D. Congo), Rev. Albert Oblipe Kenkfuni, of the diocesan clergy of Inongo.
The new rector was born on 8 July 1961 at Kebu. He attended Saint-Louis de Gonzague minor seminary at Inongo (1974/1980), and then the inter-diocesan seminary at Mayidi (1980/1983) after which he studied for a doctorate in theology at the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) in 2003. He has held various responsibilities: teacher at Bokoro minor seminary, assistant priest at a parish in Inongo diocese, formator and professor at Saint Cyprian Major seminary in Kikwit, assistant priest and bursar in a number of parishes in the diocese of Namur.
