Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) - Announcing the Gospel, service of assistance and medical visit, a cultural spectacle and an exhibition marked celebrations in Holy Family Parish and the Chapel of Saint Francis Xavier on the 500th anniversary of the birth of the Saint and China’s traditional Old People’s Day on 31 October, underlining the harmony which exists between faith and culture. According to Hong Kong’s diocesan bulletin Kong Ko Bao at least 300 old people members of the parish and the district benefited from the medical assistance offered by the Catholic community. The person in charge of the parish service group confirmed: “our intention is to promote the inculturation of the faith by underlining the importance of charity in mission”.
