AFRICA/COTE D’IVOIRE - New Rector for the Inter-diocesan Seminar for Theology of Abidjan

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, on 1 September 2006, appointed as Rector of the Inter-diocesan Seminar for Theology in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, Rev. Raymond Kutwa of the Abidjan diocesan clergy.
The new Rector was born on 31 August 1950 at Bingerville. After attending minor seminary in Bingerville (1963/1968) and intermediate seminary in Yopougon (1968/71), he went to Major Seminary in Anyama (1971/76). He was ordained a priest on 17 April 1977 in Abidjan. After ministering as assistant priest (1977/78), he continued his studies at the Catholic Institute of West Africa ICAO obtaining a licentiate in moral theology (1978/81). Since then he has been: assistant priest and later parish priest in various parishes, diocesan bursar, professor at the major seminary in Anyama and the major seminary in Gagnoa (1999/2002).
