AFRICA/COTE D’IVOIRE - Appointment of Rector inter-diocesan Seminary in Yopougon

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, on 1 September 2006, appointed Rev. Jean Dago Belli Rector of the Inter-Diocesan Seminary for Philosophy in Yopougon Cote d’Ivoire. Rev. Belli is a member of the diocesan clergy of Gagnoa.
He was born on 30 November 1970. He was educated at Man secondary school (1984/88) and the Catholic College of Gagnoa (1990/93), and then enrolled at the Seminary of the Society St. Jean Marie Vianney in Ars, France (1993/99). Later he studied for a degree in philosophy at the Catholic University of Lyons (1999/2002). He was ordained a priest in Gagnoa on 19 December 1999. He has ministered as follows: during his studies in France in charge of pastoral care for youth and the sick (1999/2002), professor of philosophy (2002/2003) rector (2003/2004) of Roger Duquesne Catholic College Gagnoa; since 2004 professor of philosophy at Abadjin-Koute major seminary.
