AMERICA/PARAGUAY - 50th anniversary of the Bishops’ Conference , 1st National Catholic Education Conferenc: “Catholic Education in a Globalised World ”

Leon (Agenzia Fides) - The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Paraguay is celebrating its 50th anniversary with various initiatives including the 1st National Catholic Education Conference, 6 - 8 October at León Condou Sporst Stadium on the theme “Catholic Education in a Globalised World ”. The Conference i san opportunità for people who work in the field of education to reflect on this timely subject in order to encourage school directorsa nd teachers to assume common task sto improbe and intensify Education Pastoral.
The Conference will open on Friday 6 October with an introductory address by Bishop Pastor Cuquejo, head of the Bishops’ National Education Pastoral office who will illustrate breifly Catholic Education in the past 50 years. Conference themes will include: “Sociocultural challenges for Catholic education in the globalised world of today”; “The Family as a response to the problems of the third millennium”; “Informal education for those barred from education"; "Profile of the Catholic teacher and the challenges of the 21st century ". During the Congress two special initiatives "Hogar de Cristo" iniziative "Faith and Joy" work will be presented by Chilean Fr Agustín Moreira.
