AFRICA/RWANDA - In countries such as Rwanda a water pump and a power stabiliser are great news: now 50,000 people have access to clean water

Rome (Agenzia Fides) - In the Rwamiko region of Rwanda the Movement Against Hunger provided a new, safer and more powerful water pump which supplies continual flow of clean water to the aqueduct in service.
Funds raised by means of a solidarity campaign made it possible to purchase the pump which supplies clean water for at least 50,000 people.
To complete its intervention and ensure that the pump will last, the Organisation promoted a training session for local technicians. The session was given by Mr Muhura an expert in this field who has worked on other aqueducts. In the district of Humure the Organisation completed the renovation of a power station built in the 1990s installing a new power stabiliser. (AP) (13/7/2006 Agenzia Fides; Righe:17; Parole:164)
