AFRICA/BURKINA FASO - Ouagadougou Seminary celebrates ordination of 22 deacons, and institution of 36 readers and 26 acolytes from Burkina, Niger and Mali

Ouagadougou (Agenzia Fides) - On 21 June at St John Baptist Seminary in Ouagadougou, 22 young men, including two Camillians and two Redemptorists, were ordained deacons; another 36 seminarians including 6 Camillians were instituted readers and 26 others, one of them a Camillian, were instituted as acolytes on 21 June
The 64 candidates came from various dioceses of Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali. The presiding Bishop was Joachim Ouedraogo, Bishop of the new diocese of Burkinabe of Dori. A number of other bishops from the countries of the candidates concelebrated, and the presence of many priests, and men and women religious made the occasion all the more fraternal and festive.
