Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On May 13, Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization (Section for First Evangelization and New Particular Churches), appointed Rev. Fr. Gabriel Jocher as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Kazakhstan. The new National Director is 36 years old and was born in Germany, (Bavaria region). After finishing school, he entered the Congregation of the Servants of Jesus and Mary in 2007, he began his philosophical-theological studies in 2009, made his final vows in 2013, was ordained a deacon in 2015, and a priest in 2016. From 2016 to 2019, he served in the parish of Blindenmarkt (Austria) and from 2019 to 2023 he was in charge of the apostolate of youth ministry and families in southern Germany.
Since October 2023 he has been working in the parish and in the Sacred Heart school in Korneevka in northern Kazakhstan. (EG) (Agenzia Fides, 21/5/2025)
