EUROPE/SPAIN - Three thousand families of Latin-American immigrants will take part in the fifth Meeting of American Peoples next Sunday, at the Shrine of Torreciudad

Huesca (Fides Agency) - About three thousand Latin-American families coming from the various Spanish regions, will gather next Sunday, 7 May, for a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Torreciudad (Huesca), to take part in the fifth Meeting of the American Peoples. The event is the most significant gathering of Hispanic-American immigrant families in Spain for number of people, and a large delegation of representatives of Embassies and Consulates of different Latin-American countries will participate. As the promoter of the initiative, Germán López, explains, “it is a very special day, when Hispano-American immigrants have the chance to live their traditions, surrounded by their fellow-citizens and other brothers from America”.
The event will start at 12 p.m. on Sunday, with the offer of traditional products and flowers from each region, followed by the Eucharistic celebration, presided over by the Rector of the Shrine of Huesca. During the lunch, various autochthonous folk groups will give life to a Latin Musical Festival. The meeting will end at 4 p.m. with a procession on the esplanade in front of the Sanctuary, to pray with the Holy Rosary for the spiritual and material necessities of the immigrant families.
