Rome (Agenzia Fides) - The Treasurer General of the Salesian Congregation (SDB), Mr Jean Paul Muller, SDB, and the head of the Salesian Coordination for Emergency Response, Fr George Menamparampil, have arrived in Warsaw to refine the coordination of the many solidarity initiatives activated in the Salesian world in favor of the Ukrainian population. "The whole Warsaw prosecutor's office is now a center of exchange. Salesians and volunteers are busy working all day", Fr. Menamparampil testified. The Salesian Family has been active all over the world for Ukraine, reports the Salesian agency ANS. In South Korea, the Salesian missionaries have organized a double donation: to the Salesians of southern Poland and to those of Ukraine, both present on Ukrainian soil. The Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) of South Korea will send the collected funds to their headquarters, which will then ensure that they arrive at their destination. The whole Salesian family, during this period of Lent, will participate in a fundraising campaign and a spiritual support campaign. The Province "Mary Help of Christians" based in Hong Kong has also already made a solidarity donation and launched the campaign in different areas of its pastoral work. "We also encourage young people and the faithful to pray for people who are suffering, especially young people, so that peace and justice can once again flourish in Ukraine", say the local Salesians. The Province of Thailand also works on the double axis of the collection of economic aid and the animation of the spiritual campaign. In the meantime, the campaigns already launched by other organizations are continuing at high speed. This is the case of the solidarity initiative launched by the Salesians in Ireland, who sent a substantial donation to the Salesians in Krakow; or the Salesians from the Italian province of Lombardo Emiliana, whose leader is the "Opera don Bosco onlus" foundation, and who already welcome 20 people, including women and children, to the Salesian house in Castel di Britti; or "Misiones Salesianas", the Salesian missionary office in Madrid, which, in addition to having allocated three separate donations to Salesians in the front line of hospitality management - in Ukraine, Poland and Slovakia - is developing an articulated communication and awareness campaign involving benefactors, the media, institutions and other organizations of civil society...
