AMERICA - Compendium of the Social Teaching of the Church presented in Central America

Havana (Fides Service) - The new Compendium of the Social Teaching of the Catholic Church will be presented in the coming days in Cuba, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico with an illustration of the fundamental lines of Catholic social doctrine. The President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino who has already visited various countries in the world on the same mission has the following programme: Havana, Cuba 16 -18 February; Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on Sunday 19 February he will address a gathering of lay people; Monday 20 he will be at Ponce, at the Catholic University of Puerto Rico, to present the Compendium to priests, religious and active lay Catholics. On Tuesday 21 he will give a lecture on the subject to teachers and students and will then address Latin American politicians and professionals. Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 February the Cardinal will give conferences on the Social Doctrine of the Church to lawyers, and to directors, administrators and teachers of Catholic schools and institutes of all grades.
