EUROPE/SLOVAKIA - Appointment of the National Director of the PMS, Fr. Ivan Kňaze

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 11 May 2018 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed the rev. Fr. Ivan Kňaze, of the diocesan clergy of Žilina as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Slovakia for a five-year term (2018/2023).
The new National Director of the PMS was born in Hradište, Slovakia, on 31 May 1971. He was ordained a priest 23 years ago for the diocese of Žilina. He was vice parish priest and parish administrator in several parishes before being appointed parish priest in Pruské, in 2013. For many years he dedicated himself to the pastoral care of children following the "Movement of Christian Childhood Communities" which deals with the missionary formation of children and of the realization of "The Good News" annual project.
He was also responsible for the national pilgrimages of children in Marian shrines. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 6/6/2018)
