Los Teques (Agenzia Fides) – "We live in very difficult times marked by scarcity of medicines and security: we must turn our hearts back towards God, He alone can help us overcome these tragic times. And we must open our hearts to our neighbours and the poor people around us”: according to a report sent to Fides this was said by Bishop Freddy Jesús Fuenmayor Suárez, of the diocese of Los Teques, as he presided the Chrism Mass in the cathedral of Los Teques (main city of the state of Miranda). The Chrism Mass, celebrated on Monday 10 April, was the occasion for a special solidarity campaign.
The parishes responded generously to a special Compartir (Sharing) campaign in aid of the poorest families in the city and all over the state of Miranda. In this Holy Week the people will keep their eyes and hearts focused on God invoking peace for Venezuela and living solidarity with the poor. (CE) (Agenzia Fides, 12/04/2017)
