AMERICA/BRAZIL - Latin American Bishops Conferences Delegates for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue meet in São Paulo

São Paulo (Fides Service) - “Intensify efforts by our Bishops Conferences of Latin America and the Caribbean to promote ecumenical and interreligious dialogue; share progress in the field of dailogue with other Churches and religions; discuss the reality of Pentecostal groups and identify plans for future dialogue; share progress to prepare for 5th General Assembly of CELAM Council of Latin American Bishops’ Conferences”. These are some of the objectives of a three day meeting of Latin American Bishops Conferences Delegates for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue Santa Fé Pastoral Centre in São Paulo, Brazil.
The meeting, promoted jointly by the Pontifical Council for Christian Unity, CELAM and the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Brazil, will be presided by Cardinal Walter Kasper President of the above mentioned Pontifical Council for Christian Unity. Participants will include Rev. Luiz Roberto Benedetti of Campinas archdiocese, docent at Campinas Pontifical Catholic University; Pastor Leonildo Silveira Campos of the Independent Presbyterian Church of Brazil and a docent at São Paulo Methodist University.
