EUROPE/SPAIN - “Night adoration and young people: challenges for the future”: National Meeting for Young Night Adorers of the Eucharist 23 - 25 September

León (Fides Service) - ‘Putting Jesus at the centre’ is the theme of a National Meeting for Young Night Adorers of the Eucharist 23 - 25 September to be held in Leon, Spain, organised by the National Council of Night Adorers. In this dedicated to the Eucharist and for Spain, to Immaculate Mary, the meeting intends to respond to the many calls by John Paul II and Benedict XVI to make Jesus in the Eucharist the centre of personal life and to help young people grow in devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. The event will be an opportunity for the young particpants to encounter Jesus in the Eucharist, to pray and adore, reflect and share experience.
The meeting will open on 23 September with the presentation of the programme and welcome of young participants from all over Spain. Saturday will start with morning prayer followed by a conference by Vice national spiritual director for young people José Angel Riofrancos to open reflection on the theme “Putting Jesus at the centre’ followed by group reflection. A second conference on “Night adoration and young people: challenges for the future” will be given by Vicente Montesinos. In the afternoon the young people will prepare a Vigil of Adoration, listen to a round table discussion on the theme “Eucharist, gift of the Father moderated by Fr. Jesùs Miguel Martìn advisor to the Group of Leon”., The culminating event night adoration will start at 11.30pm with a procession through the cloister of Basilica of St Isidoro, followed by adoration in turns all through the night. On Sunday 25 the young Adorers will go to the cathedral where they may obtain obtain the diocesan, Eucharistic and Marian indulgence and take part in the closing Mass presided by Bishop Julián López Martín.
