AMERICA/UNITED STATES - Over 1,000 young people expected to attend 3rd Latin American Catholic Youth Meeting 30 July in Chicago

Chicago (Fides Service) - “Let us cast our nets into the deep” (cfr. Lk 5,4) is slogan of the 3rd Latin American Catholic Youth Meeting on Saturday 30 July at the DePaul University in Chicago, on the theme “Articolation of Hispanic Youth Pastoral programme in the archdiocese of Chicago”. The aim of the meeting, organised by the Chicago archdiocesan youth pastoral office is to give a structured form to the diocesan Hispanic Youth Pastoral programme “on the basis of the past five years of experience in parish youth groups and movements in the archdiocese”.
The packed programme includes 2 main conferences on which the young participants will reflect and discuss in work groups. After this there will be a presentation of activities in various offices. The highlight of the meeting with be a solemn closing Mass presided by Cardinal Francis George, OMI followed by a musical performance “Celebrating our life and our youth” in which young people will demonstrate their talent “Concert - Talent Show”.
