Hong Kong (Fides Service) - The Diocesan Commission of Hospital Pastoral recently organised a meeting for volunteers involved in the pastoral care of the sick, the elderly and outcasts. According to Kong Ko Bao diocesan bulletin during Mass at St Anthony’s parish the volunteers told parishioners about their service to care for the sick illustrating the best methods for relating to the elderly and explaining how the service can be an occasion for evangelisation.
The Diocesan Commission for Hospital Pastoral commended the volunteers for their work and encouraged others to join them in caring for the weaker members of society. The Commission has already visited 22 parishes, given information at more than 70 masses, distributed more than 5,000 leaflets and welcomed many new volunteers.
