New York (Fides Service) – The Church in the United States, which will take part in the American Mission Congress in November in Guatemala, is defining the composition of the delegation which will attend CAM 2, Father John Kozar National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies told Fides.. “Our country is very large – says Father Kozar – and we want our delegation to be representative as possible in keeping with the specific profile of the CAM 2 organising committee. It is complex for us to make a choice but we hope to have soon confirmed the final delegation which will go to Guatemala City”. This delegation will earlier to Guatemala before the Congress, to discuss certain questions and take part in the Congress itself.
Diocesan Offices for Missions are in permanent contact with the National PMS office to prepare for the Congress because, as Father Kozar says: “since we are unable to fund national or regional meetings in this country to prepare for CAM2 we are using the preparatory material as the object of study in the different dioceses. ”. At the same time the World Mission Committee of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the United States is working closely with other offices and committees such as the Commission for Latin America the Committee for Evangelisation the Secretary for education and other to promote and prepare for the Congress and increase mission awareness. Moreover, Father Kozar reports, many newspapers are giving information on the Congress and many publications of the different religious communities will continue to do so as preparations proceed.
