ASIA/INDIA - New Rector appointed for Gujarat Vidya Deep Regional inter-diocesan Seminary in the diocese of Baroda

Vatican City (Fides Service) - Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples appointed, 4 March 2005, Rector of Gujarat Vidya Deep Regional Seminary in the diocese of Baroda (India), Reverend Fr. Irudayaraj Manikam, SJ.
The new Rector, aged 57, comes from Tamil Nadu. He studied Sacred Scripture at the Gregorian University in Rome and then taught at Premal Jyoti-Ahmedabad regional college of theology for ten years. To prepare a doctorate he moved to the parish of Vadtal in the village of Bhumel. Two years later he moved to Vidya Jyoti, Delhi to continue his work of research.
