The event opened with a Mass presided by His Exc. Mgr. Bruno Musarò, Apostolic Nuncio in Cuba. During the work they dealt with some issues related to the life of the Church in Cuba in recent decades, with particular emphasis on the role of the laity in evangelization, in a Church that suffers the scarcity of priests.
The National Director of the PMS in Bolivia, His Exc. Mgr. Eugenio Scarpellini, presented the journey of preparation for CAM 5. A missionary Cross will be realized, and will travel to every diocese to encourage the participation in the Congress. This cross will be blessed by the Holy Father during the V Bolivian National Eucharistic Congress to be held in July. After a lengthy discussion, it was decided that the next Congress will not have the double name "CAM - Comla" but only "V American Missionary Congress".
The first pre-Congress Symposium, to deepen the main themes, will be held in Puerto Rico from 30 September to 2 October. It will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Conciliar Decree Ad Gentes (7 December 1965). (CE) (Agenzia Fides 09/03/2015)
