"Venite adoremus": Christmas exhibition of Nativity Pictures from Dürer to Tiepolo opens today

Rome (Fides Service) - "Venite adoremus" is the title of a Christmas exhibition of Nativity Pictures from Dürer to Tiepolo which opens today and can be visited until 9 January 2005 at the hall of representation of the Pontifical Commission for the Cultural Heritage of the Church, in piazza della Cancelleria in Rome. The exhibition is a summary of the most significant themes of a creative process undertaken by engravers of different epoch and schools to depict the mystery of the Nativity of Jesus Christ. The different schools represented include: Nordic, German and Flemish schools, the French school and Italian master engravers from the 15th to the 19th century. The initiative is promoted by the Pontifical Commission for the Cultural Heritage of the Church in collaboration with the Ministry for Italian Heritage and Cultural Activities, with the patronage of Rome City Council.
