AFRICA/BENIN - Appointment of the Bishop of Natitingou

Vatican City (genzia Fides) - On March 13 , 2014, the Holy Father appointed Fr. Antoine Sabi Bio as Bishop of the Diocese of Natitingou (Benin).
Fr. Antoine Sabi Bio was born in Gounienou (Kérou) in 1963. After completing his studies in philosophy and theology at the Major Seminary of St. Gall, he was ordained a priest on 7 December 1991.
On 19 June 2002 he obtained a Licentiate in Pastoral Theology at the Pontifical Salesian University. Since then he has served in a number of pastoral roles: 1991-1997: Chancellor, Diocesan Treasurer; 1997-1999: Pastor of the parish of Sainte Marie Reine in Koussou; 1999-2002: Studies in Rome, in Educational Sciences at the Pontifical Salesian University; 2002-2009: Rector of the St. Pierre Minor Seminary in Natitingou and, since 2008, General Vicar; 2009-2013: Pastor of the Cathedral.
