ASIA/HONG KONG - Hong Kong Catholics share experience of International Eucharistic Congress in Mexico

Hong Kong (Fides Service) - A delegation of Catholics from Hong Kong who took part in the 48th International Eucharistic Congress accompanied by Bishop Zen of Hong Kong and Father Fernando Montes, provincial superior of the Missionaries of Guadalupe, returned home full of enthusiasm and gratitude for the wonderful experience.
“The beautiful and solemn celebrations of the Eucharist and instructive conferences increased our awareness of the close relationship between the Eucharist and daily life. We are more deeply aware that since we become part of Christ’s Body when we receive Holy Communion and so we must imitate him and learn from him, With regard to evangelisation the Church must give special attention to the family and youth”.
According to the Hong diocesan bulletin Kong Ko Bao, a delegation of thirty, Sisters and laity was offered a warm welcome in Miexico by the Missionaries of Guadalupe. The Hong Kong delegation was in Mexico from 8 to 20 October. The partipants made a pilgrimage to Mexico City and heard the Pope’s message from St Peter’s in Rome.
