VATICAN - Catholic Bishops of the Indian Ocean make ad limina visit to Rome

Tuesday, 9 November 2004

Vatican City (Fides Service) - This morning, 9 November, Pope John Paul II received a group of Catholic Bishops members of the Bishops’ Conference of the Indian Ocean in audience in the Vatican. Over the past few days the Bishops, in Rome for their ad limina visit, had private individual audiences with the Pope. Today, addressing them together as a Conference the Holy Father encouraged them to strive for ever more “authentic spirituality of communion”; live the year of the Eucharist to the full; give special attention to the formation of priests and seminarians; involve the laity in pastoral activity; protect Christian families and promote the spiritual and human development of young people.
