Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on 27 January 2012 appointed Fr. Ronald Vunuvung, of the clergy of the Archdiocese of Rabaul as Rector of the Seminary "Most Sacred Heart of Jesus" in the Archdiocese of Rabaul (Papua New Guinea ).
The new Rector was born on August 11, 1959 in Vunapope, in the East New Britain Province (Papua New Guinea), and was ordained a priest on 24 November 1985. He was the Curate of the Cathedral of Rabaul, the Pastor in Valanguo, Director of Programmes of the Pre-seminar in Lanuzell and contemporarily Director of vocations in Rabaul. From 1998 to 2003 he continued his studies in philosophy at the University of Louvain (Belgium). When he returned to Rabaul he carried out his pastoral work in the most remote areas of the archdiocese, he taught Philosophy in the Seminary. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 03/01/2013)
