AFRICA/MOZAMBIQUE - Appointment of the Rector of the inter-diocesa philosophical Seminary "S.Agostinho" in Maputo

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on 24 February 2012 appointed rev. Tonito José Francisco Xavier Muananoua of the clergy of the diocese of Gurué as Rector of the Major inter-diocesa philosophical Seminary "S.Agostinho" in Matola, Archdiocese of Maputo (Mozambique).
The new Rector was born on June 6, 1972 in Invinha, district of Gurué (Mozambique), and was ordained a priest on 12 October 2003 for the diocese of Gurué. He was Vice Rector and Prefect of Studies at the inter-diocesan preparatory Seminary S.Agostino in Quelimane, Director of the Diocesan Secretariat for the pastoral coordination in Gurué, Formator and Prefect of studies at the major inter-diocesan philosophical Seminary "S.Agostinho" in Matola.
