Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on 17 December 2011 appointed Rev. Fr. Peter John Jeffrey, of the clergy of the Diocese of Sandhurst (Australia) as Rector of the Seminary of the "Holy Cross" in the Diocese of Auckland (New Zealand).
The new Rector was born on 8 April 1938 in Bendigo, Diocese of Sandhurst (Australia), where he was ordained a priest. He was the Curate in various parishes (1964-71), member of the équipe and Rector of the "Corpus Christi Provincial Seminary" (1972-84), member of the équipe and Rector of the "Pacific Regional Seminary" - Fiji (1985-88 ), parish priest in his diocese of origin.
