AMERICA/PANAMA - "Pastoral conversion", a new topic to consider in the life of the Church in America

Panama City (Agenzia Fides) - The Permanent Formation Course for Bishops and priests of Central America and the Caribbean, organized by the Latin American Episcopal Council (CELAM) was held from 11 to 13 September, in the Archdiocese of Panama.
One of the main topics covered in this edition was the "Pastoral Conversion" theme presented by His Exc. Mgr. Mario Moronta, Bishop of the Diocese of San Cristobal in Venezuela. During his speech, Mgr. Moronta presented the "Biblical elements of pastoral conversion", and pointed out that this topic "has become important and is taken seriously by the Church in Latin America." After the presentation there was the intervention of the participants and group work. The formation course is organized by CELAM. On this occasion, it was coordinated by Father Felipe de Leon, of the Archdiocese of Pula and Executive Director of the Mission and Spirituality Department, with the support of Father José Gregorio Melo, of the diocese of San Cristobal.
