Kathmandu (Agenzia Fides) – The Evangelical Christian community, Vittoria di Cristo”, has informed Agenzia Fides that 300 new Pastors will be ordained in Nepal next July - all Nepalese – who will be leaders in the local communities, called to evangelize, especially in small villages situated in remote areas of the country. The 300 new Pastors are ready to begin their ministry having concluded six years of preparation which included liturgical and pastoral formation and service of the poor: Many of them have done biblical studies abroad. They are made up of fathers of families between 25 and 60 that will initiate with their families new, small, Christian communities in Nepal. “ It is our contribution to Evangelization”, Rev.Matthew Suroya, pastor in the Presbyterian area, head of the “Masiha World Mission” in Nepal, organizer of the formation course and active in Nepal with programmes of instruction and service of the poor, explained to Fides. “We want to bring the blessing of Christ on Nepal in this time of extreme need in the country”, he said. The ceremony of ordination, at which a large number of Christians from Nepal and the surrounding countries are expected, will be an opportunity to witness to the Christian faith in Nepal.
