Rome (Fides Service) - Music and evangelisation through this universal language is the objective of a new portal www.comunicanto.it. opened by a group professional musicians working on the international market for the production and distribution of music which combines quality technique and sound with the Christian message of peace, solidarity and love.
Today Christian music spans all types of music ranging from blues to rock, from Gospel to hip-hop, from Gregorian chant to rap, from sound tracks to children’s music, from popular dance music to organ music and choirs, from light music to psalms.
The site offers information, the possibility of listening to CD and cassettes, books, sheet music, posters, besides the objective of spreading among the young people of the world Christian music which is becoming a segment of contemporary music and is music which is not afraid to announce the values of the Gospel and God’s love for all people.
The name chosen for the portal , “Comunicanto”, is a combination of “communicating” “chant”. “Our idea - the authors say - is to be in communion with the realities in the Church and to bear witness to our faith and our creed through the universal language of music”.
