AFRICA/ZAMBIA-Appointment of Pro-Rector of the inter-diocesan Seminary of philosophy "St. Augustine" in Lusaka

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on May 29, 2011 appointed rev. Paul Simukanzye of the diocesan clergy of Mpika as Pro-Rector for a two-year period at the philosophical inter-diocesan Seminary "St. Augustine" in the Archdiocese of Lusaka (Zambia).
The new Rector was born on June 23, 1965 in Mbala. After primary school, he attended the minor Seminary Lubushi in Kasama, then studied philosophy at St. Augustine Major Seminary in Kabwe and theology at the Major Seminary of San Domenico in Lusaka. He was ordained a priest in 1991. He was then pastor at the minor Seminary Lubushi in Kasama, a teacher at Emmaus Spirituality Centre in Lusaka. From 1995 to 1999 he continued his studies in philosophy at the Gregorian University in Rome. When he returned to his homeland he was a trainer, vice-rector and pro-rector at the St. Augustine Major Seminary in Kabwe. (S.L.) (Agenzia Fides 16/2/2012)
