Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on June 10, 2011 appointed Rev. Anselmo Alejandro Peña Sanchez , of the diocesan clergy of Mao-Monte Cristi as National Director of Pontifical Mission Societies in the Dominican Republic for the years 2011-2016
The new National Director is 47 years old and has been a priest for 14. He was Pastor in several communities and Vice-Rector of the Minor Seminary. He also created a course in missiology at CELAM. He is currently Pastor of Santisima Cruz de las Matas de Santa Cruz, Diocesan Coordinator of the Pontifical Mission Societies, diocesan Director of the Continental Mission and Pro-Vicar for the Pastoral care.
