AMERICA/BOLIVIA - IX Meeting of the Brazilian missionaries in Bolivia

Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Agenzia Fides) - From Friday 16 to Sunday 18 September, the ninth meeting of Brazilian missionaries who work in this country with the aim to share moments of spirituality, missionary experiences, and to-date formation in the mission field will be held in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia,. The first meeting was held in October 1996 and since then the missionaries community in Brazil have regularly met, convened by the National Director of Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) of Brazil. The Church of Bolivia participates with the Bolivian delegate of the Bolivian Conference of Religious (BCR), the National Director of the PMS in Bolivia and a representative of the Bolivian Episcopal Conference. For Brazil, the National Director of the PMS, Father Camilo Pauletti, and the President of the Conference of Religious of Brazil (CRB) Brother Sílvio da Silva will be present. Currently, there are more than 100 Brazilian missionaries in Bolivia, scattered in various places around the country.
Among the congregations present we can mention the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, the missionary nuns of Jesus Crucificado, the Franciscans de Nossa Senhora Aparecida, the Franciscan Catechists, the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the sisters of Jesus in the Eucharist, and other missionary communities such as the Holy Family, Scalabrinians, Camillians, Verbiti and Spiritans.
