Rome (Agenzia Fides) - "The feeling is that there is some effort on behalf of the rebels for pacification", says His Exc. Mgr. Giovanni Innocenzo Martinelli to Fides, Apostolic Vicar of Tripoli, who is in Italy for medical treatment but is in constant contact with the Libyan capital. "Pacification not with Gadhafi, whom the rebels ask for an unconditional surrender, but with the rest of the population of Tripoli" says Mgr. Martinelli. "From what I have been told, the atmosphere in Tripoli is a bit more serene. I spoke to two Libyan friends who told me: 'Wait a few more days and everything will be calmer'. “We hope for the best”, concluded Mgr. Martinelli. (L.M.) (Agenzia Fides 29/08/2011)
