Huesca (Agenzia Fides) - A group of Chinese families living in Zaragoza, Huesca, Builbao and Pamplona, gathered even this year at the Shrine in Torreciudad (Huesca) to celebrate the Fourth Day of Prayer for the Church in China. According to information sent to Fides by José Alfonso Arregui García, communications director of the Shrine, yesterday, Sunday May 22, a Chinese priest who follows the Chinese Catholic community in Bilbao accompanied the pilgrims, most of whom were young Families with children. After seeing a video on St. Josemaria, subtitled in Chinese, the pilgrims led in procession to the courtyard of the Shrine, the image of Our Lady of China. After attending the Mass, celebrated in Mandarin, they recited the Holy Rosary through telephonic connections with a parish of Taiwan and a seminar of China. The Day of Prayer for the Church in China was recommended by Pope Benedict XVI in his Letter to the Catholic Church in China on 27 May 2007: " on 24 May, which is dedicated to the feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Help of Christians - who is venerated with great devotion at the Marian shrine of Sheshan in Shanghai - in the future could become the occasion for Catholics around the world to join in prayer with the Church in China "(n. 19).
