AMERICA/PERU - International Meeting for Missionaries opens today in Chiclayo, “to renew missionary spirit and underline the need to open Mission Centres in diocese and parishes ”

Chiclayo (Fides Service) - From 13 to 16 July to mark the 10th anniversary of the Diocesan Mission Centre in the Peruvian diocese of Chiclayo, there will be an “International Meetings for Missionaries” with the aim of “renewing missionary spirit in parishes, groups, movements and communities... not only in Chiclayo diocese but in every ecclesiastical circumscription in the country underlining the need to open diocesan and parish mission centres”. Silvio Mac Long Farina, national co-ordinator of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Peru informed Fides. The meeting will take place at the Manuel Pardo Education Centre.
Speakers will include experts on mission from Spain, Colombia and Peru on the following themes: Solidarity means Mission (Fr Santiago García de la Rasilla, S.J-Spain);“From faith the new man” (Mons. Jorge García Isaza, C.M., Colombia); “The Mercy of the Father ”(Fr. Donato Jiménez, OAR); “Emmaus” (Mons. Jorge García Isaza, C.M.-Colombia); “Eucharist Sacrament of new Life ” (Fr. Gregorio Pérez Güereño, OFM); “Love of Mission” (Adelaida Suero - Peru); “The Holy Spirit soul of the missionary”(Fr. Gregorio Pérez de Güereño, OFM); “Solidarity, privileged path for Peace” (Fr.
