AFRICA/CHAD - Appointment of Rector at “Saint Luc” inter-diocesan Major Seminary in N’Djamena

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, on 14 May 2010, appointed as Rector at “Saint Luc” inter-diocesan Major Seminary in N’Djamena (Chad), Father Gregoire Ngarmadji Njebe, a member of the clergy of Doba.
The new Rector was born on 15 May 1963 in Ngawmbagti, Diocese of Doba. He studied philosophy and theology (1985-93) in Bakara, at Saint Luc Major Seminary, then received a degree in Theology at the ICAO. He was ordained a priest on 5 June 1993 in the Cathedral of Doba. He then studied in Rome at the Pontifical Salesian University, where he received his Licentiate in Theology specialising in youth ministry and catechetics (1996-1999) and then his Doctorate (2003). Among his previously held roles: he was responsible for the pastoral care ministry in various parishes, director of the diocesan centre for continuing formation in Doba, professor at Saint Luc Major Seminary, director of the diocesan Commission for pastoral care at the same time as Rector of Saint Augustine inter-diocesan Seminary in Bébédjia, Episcopal Vicar for the City of Bébédjia, President of the diocesan Commission for ongoing formation. On 12 March 2004 he was appointed Rector of Saint Tuzindé Major Seminary in Sahr. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 1/02/2011)
