AFRICA/CONGO DR - Resignation by the Archbishop of Lubumbashi and his successor

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father Benedict XVI on 1 December, 2010, accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the Archdiocese of Lubumbashi (Democratic Republic of Congo), presented by Archbishop Floribert Songasonga Mwitwa, in accordance with Can. 401 § 2 of the Code of Canon Law. He is succeeded by Archbishop Jean-Pierre Tafunga Mbaye, SDB, until now Coadjutor of the same archdiocese. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 01/12/2010)
