AFRICA/SUDAN - Appointment of Auxiliary Bishop of Juba

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 27 November, 2010, the Holy Father Benedict XVI appointed as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Juba (Sudan), the Rev. Santo Loku Pio Doggale of the clergy of Juba, Assistant Parish Priest of the Cathedral, assigning him titular Bishop of Bulna.
The Rev. Santo Loku Pio Doggale, was born 28 December, 1969 in Katiré, in the Diocese of Torit. After attending the Kworijic Primary School, he entered the Minor Seminary of Saint Mary in Juba. He then attended St Mary's Secondary School, receiving the Sudan Certificate. He took courses in philosophy and theology at St Paul's National Seminary in Khartoum, receiving his Diploma in Theology. On 7 January, 2001, he was ordained priest of the Archdiocese of Juba. After his Ordination, he held the following offices: 2001-2004: Personal Secretary to the Archbishop; 2003: Assistant at the Sacred Heart Parish in Kworijik; 2004-2006: Secretary General of the Archdiocese of Juba; 2006-2010: Parish Priest of St Mary's Immaculate Parish in Terekeka. He is currently Assistant Parish Priest of the Cathedral in Juba. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 27/11/2010)
